Setting unrealistic expectations

As parents, it’s natural to hope for our children to become successful and independent adults. However, setting expectations that are too high and unrealistic will only lead to disappointment.

We may all have these types of thoughts at one point or another, but expecting our children to be perfect is not helpful for anyone in the family, including ourselves. It can lead to frustration, anger, guilt, and depression if children cannot meet our standards.
